Some further data points to add are below. I've run 1.4.2 and 1.5_BETA
GENERIC netbooted systems on a vs2000, vs3200 and vs4000/60.
vs2000/6Mb/LANCE/RD53
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 58.05 real seconds = 282.23 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 78.74 real seconds = 208.08 KB/sec +++
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 74.88 real seconds = 218.81 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 100.82 real seconds = 162.51 KB/sec +++
vs3200/16Mb/DELQA/RD54
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 32.02 real seconds = 511.66 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 50.48 real seconds = 324.59 KB/sec +++
(got lots of this: /netbsd: qe0: ring overrun, resync'd by skipping N)
(on the second case above, i.e. transmitting on the VAXen)
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 42.81 real seconds = 382.74 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 49.31 real seconds = 332.24 KB/sec +++
(the RD54 dies on 1.5_BETA with
uda0: controller error, sa=0100006 (unibus ring read error)
vs4000-60/40Mb/LANCE/RZ23L
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 15.11 real seconds = 1084.08 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 15.57 real seconds = 1052.48 KB/sec +++
ttcp-t: 16777216 bytes in 15.02 real seconds = 1090.70 KB/sec +++
ttcp-r: 16777216 bytes in 15.60 real seconds = 1050.50 KB/sec +++
I could not do any across version Bonnie runs due to failures or
lack of hardware support in that version...
Cheers,
