I've spent a good portion of the weekend trying to collect some performance
data.  I had also hoped to have a datum point for 1.2 but the 1.2C snapshot
I had just would not boot after many hours of struggle.  Oh well.  I also
should have made several runs of each benchmark, but well, a uVAX is slow.

I hadn't even thought about doing so until, while using ttcp on 1.5_BETA,
I had a bogus hang.  No network activity at all.  No apparent errors either.
I did a bit of ping back and forth and lo and behold it started again.
I noticed I'd also had a big hang in the clock (i.e. lost time).

The hardware used throughout: uVAX-II (KA630), 9Mb mem, DEQNA, Emulex UC07,
Quantum Maverick 540S.

The ttcp numbers are from the remote host (i.e. the text I snarfed below).
