I just booted a 1.5_ALPHA2 kernel on my VS4000/60 without problem.  I just 
uploaded
a 1.5_ALPHA2 snapshot to ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.5_APLHA2/vax
