NI stands for Network Interface. I seem to remember someone
telling me that ?? next to a test means there is a serious problem with
the hardware. It could possibly be toasted. Now I think the 7990 chips are
all socketed DIP's so you can probably swap them out for any other VAXen's
should that be the case, as it appears to be.
