I used the mopd from the 1.5-Alpha, then used bootp instead of bootparam. This
worked fine for the 1.4.2 kernel except, of course, that 1.4.2 doesn't support
the ethernet on the 3300!
This caused my old kernel to refuse to acknowledge that NFS was even available.
Upgrading to the 1.5-GENERIC worked for me. If it is failing to load / (as
opposed to not TRYING to load / ) you might try mounting your NFS export local
to your bootserver and make sure that it is -maproot=root

Oh, and if you do go with the newer mop.boot and use bootp (it's easier and WAY
faster than bootparam), be aware that you need short paths to your root.
/usr/vax/root works fine for me, but /usr/export/vaxen/root did not.

If you need, I can grab my bootptab files this eve and mail em over to you as
an example.

Good Luck
Paul

I tried hacking NetBSD onto my solar powered calculator.
But the sun is never out when I'm hacking, so I couldn't test it.
