Possibly the Pin is unused or GND or the memory test does not detect
the damage. Get the box running and do some big compile jobs. If this
runs all is OK.

There are 8 MB RAM on board. I think you have 4MB modules. Have a look
at http://www.netbsd.org/Library/Hardware/Machines/DEC/vax/sections.html
Ther are no 8MB modules for the VS4k60. Possibly you have 8MB kits, 
consisting of two 4MB modules.
