I've got a VS4000-VLC with a Seagate ST11200N HD and a Plextor 12x CD-ROM;
HD is at ID 0 and the CD-ROM is at ID 6.  I saw this message about a bootable
CD image:

So, I downloaded, burned it (using my Ultra 10).
Stuck it in the Plextor, "boot dka600:"
So far, so good.
Got to the sysinstall screen that says "Shall we continue?"
I selected b:Yes, pressed enter
got this:

dump succeeded
