That would be great! I am now downloading base and etc of the vax
snapshot of 19991115. The problem with 1.4.2 (which I now have running
from an i386 'server') is that kernel and world (hope this is the
right word here) are not in sync (idem). ps, w, etc. do not work:
"proc size mismatch" etc.

Probably too tricky for me. There are some 50 languages I'm more
fluent in than C :-) But I would like to try... Promise I will not
expect any help :-)
