RE: my disklabel problem.

I get the "device not configured" message whatever device I use. 

disklabel sd0
disklabel /dev/sd0
disklabel sd0a
disklabel /dev/sd0a

even when I use "rsd0a"

the key values in my kernel are

scsibus*        at asc?
sd*             at scsibus? target? lun?

Anyone who has a VAXstation 4000 VLC with a working disk please forward me your kernel config so that I see what I'm missing.
