BTW, -current enable the VLC's cache too.

what command are you using?

disklabel sd0 should show something.

I usually do 

disklabel sd0 >/sd0.lbl

vi /sd0.lbl

disklabel -r -R sd0 sd0.lbl
disklabel -B sd0
