My driver (based on 1.4X) such as it is, can see the SII chip, can
initialize it and give it some buffers to work from. Going with Isildur's
assertion that the protocol is simply MSCP I've been trying to get some
more information on that protocol from various sources (including ultrix
drivers). But it is tough sledding. The MSCP protocol is protected by a
patent and DEC was none too keen on it being used without a license so
documentation on it is skimpy at best.
I'm also trying to absorb the NetBSD 'bus*' concept to because there will
be a new bus here to support this (and it should probably be CI bus but for
now it's going to be a subset in my stuff). There are some functions that
automatically move data from the bus into the kernel and I'm hoping to use
those with this driver. My next milestone is to send an enquire transaction
to the 8 DSSI targets and to get back information on each of the devices
attached.
