A potential problem lay here though, the NetBSD/vax 1.4.1 install really
wanted about 5Megs of RAM to get going without running out of memory
during the install process. The installed system will run okay on 4Megs,
but there's the RAM disk overhead in the install kernel which takes up a
fair chunk of memory.

It is feasible to do run the install on a 4Meg system, but it requires you
to exit out of the installer, manually create your disklabel and enable
swap. At that point you can go back and install the system.

Just another hurdle to be aware of if it turns out that both of the memory
exapansion boards are dead and you're stuck with a 4Meg system.
