Well, i guess i must have missed something. I retried
making a installkernel once more and succeeded this time.
It's stripped to the bones however, and won't support
any other boxes than the 3100 boxes with SCSI disks. 
The need for a updated booter is still there to be able
to make a generic installkernel.

As soon as possible i'll make a new cdboot.fs from the
latest sources. Meanwhile the 1.4U installkernel can be
downloaded from:

http://www.mds.mdh.se/~elt96ahs/downloads/NetBSD-vax/netbsd.ram.gz
