Subject: debug kernel?

Has anyone built a debug kernel recently? I tried to enable DDB in the 
generic kernel (1.4U) and it created a 16MB image, then copied that image 
to netbsd.gdb and tried to run strip on that image to create the netbsd 
image. Unfortunately strip just died for no apparent reason. (yes I did an 
unlimit datasize)
