I remember there being a problem with fifo's on NFS filesystems under
NetBSD/vax. In particular, screen didn't work on the diskless NetBSD/vax
stations. You did say that your system was diskless, right? I'm not sure
whether or not fifo creation should work on NFS filesystems or not.
I've verified that the above test case does work on my NetBSD/vax 1.4.1
disk based system. I don't have access to my diskless systems at the
moment.
