There's a big difference between building on i386 machines as well as
vaxen, and cross building vax code from i386. Cross building anything
other than kernels is a very experimental technology IMHO.

The idea was not so absurd after all, and some folks got a little flip
with you over it. Big Deal!!

Why are you so upset over this?

Besides, if you'd started out your original question with "does anyone
here use i386 to cross-build vax?" then you probably would have gotten
a "nope, sorry" really quick instead of the grief that you got instead.
