I am trying to netboot a 3100 from an i486 NetBSD box. I get as far as
the following:
On the VAX:
...
>boot netbsd
Trying BOOTP
bootp: no reply
Trying BOOTPARAMS
boot: client IP address: 192.168.0.6
bootparamd: 'whoami' call failed
boot failed: Unknown error: code 60
> boot netbsd.gz
Trying BOOTP
bootp: no reply
Using IP address: 192.168.0.6
myip: (192.168.0.6), mask: 255.255.255.0
root addr=0.0.0.0 path=/
arp: no response for 0.0.0.0
85 RESTART SYS
84 FAIL
83 BOOT SYS
...
boot into VMS
On the bootserver ( -d output from rpc.bootparamd)
rpc.bootparamd: whoami got question for 192.168.0.6
rpc.bootparamd: this is host sleepy.joules0.demon.co.uk
rpc.bootparamd: whoami failed
[repeated about 6 times]
Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong and ow I can correct it?
When I was using Linux as a bootserver there wan no problem, have I
messed up the configuration or should I go back to using a Linux
bootserver?
