I posted this to the port alpha list.
I am hoping someone will tell me ok or don't do it!
I am stretching the charter a little but...
My vaxen are running GREAT!!!
but
I am still having fun with my multia and 3000.
The floppy hangs part of the way thru booting with 1.3.2 or 1.4.1
floppy.
Typical multia floppy happenstance? I think so.

Now, no floppy on my 3k, can't rebuild the disk on that or the multia.

So, trying to work around, i found a board that seems to be a scsi to
FDi (floppy) converter.

P/N on board is 5419288 (dec 54 number in my memory!)
It has two cable connectors, 3.5 floppy size and 50 pin scsi.
and a power connector.
Has a rom and 3 pals on it (or 23 series numbers) one looks like an 8K,
23-479e6-00 labeled AB0fy/w9034
3 pals are labeled 23-302k3, 23-241k5, and 23-001j9-00

am i correct in assuming this will allow me to plug in a 3.5 floppy and
then reboot my 3k????
then my multia!!
thanks for any help!!!
