Yeah, and I tested the 1.4.1 boot/install from TK-50 on MicroVAX II's with
Dilog SQ706A and DEC RQDX3 controllers.  And then I also tested it on an
MV3600 with the DEC SDI disk controllers.  

I'd suspect your troubles are with the controller, the drives, or their
cabling, and not the NetBSD/vax 1.4.1 stuff.  Unless there are driver
issues with your particular controller (I'm not aware of any though).
