OK, maybe I have some switch settings off. Can you bounce me the
particular switch settings on your card? If not, I will see about Bob
at Dilog. It was running VMS fine, so I am assuming things are OK on it.
I reset the VMS system password to test it out, and it came up OK. Alas,
that has gotta be the most verbosity laden thing since JCL, so I promptly
nuked it in favor of trying to install NetBSD.

OK... I have run into sector sparing problems on IBM in esdi drives, but
need to check that for sure on the Imprimis. What I was needing was the
correct incantation to the almighty prom to get it going... b dua9...check.

I got as far as getting sysinstall running. But, it died at the point where
it needed to newfs the usr partition. Something was off there. root newfsed
OK. That would seem to suggest that the label was off somewhat and it could
not find a valid entry for use as the usr partition to pass to newfs.
It went by so fast I could not determine the error exactly.

That might be. A LLformat on it may fix that. It could be that
it has some hosed sectors somewhere. The basic drive seems to
work. I will run the llfmt, tonight, and go from there.

OK. What all kinds of tapes will work on that scsi tape port? I have
an 8200, lots of 1/4 incher Archives, and that kind of thing, but no
9 tracker reel-to-reel things.....(yet).....

On another lark, anyone got any ultrix 3.2 or whatever the prescribed
version is that are on TK50 tapes, or anyone know how to write a boot
tape for ultrix from a cd on a VS3100? I think my NBSD 1.3.2 and 1.4.1
tapes are OK, if I can get through sysinstall, without stalling on newfs.

Getting there slowwwwwwwly, at 0.9 vup or something like that.....
