Really?  I thought they were doing their usual policy of "we'll gladly sell
you 1991 hardware as long as you don't mind paying 1991 prices", and in their
minds that would be enough to make us think the VAX isn't dead.  Well maybe I
heard wrong.  If they *are* gone, that means the VAX's lifetime was shorter
than the PDP-11's (although its lifetime was artificially extended using
the above technique), which is pretty funny considering how much more DEC
cared about the VAX than anything else they've ever done.
