I am trying to install NetBSD on my MicroVAX 3100, and, having failed to
boot from tape due to the SCSI problems, I am trying to netboot the
installation. I have got the Linux end set up with the netbsd.ram.gz
kernel unzipped and renamed to netbsd in the exported root directory.

On the VAX console I get:

 >>> b/100 esa0

 bootfile: mopboot

 -ESA0
 >> NetBSD/vax boot [May 7 1999 06:49:43] <<
 >> Press any key to abort autoboot 0
 > boot netbsd
 Trying BOOTP
 bootp: no reply
 Trying BOOTPARAMS
 boot: client IP address: 192.168.0.3
 boot: client name: vax
 root addr=192.168.0.1 path=/usr/export/vaxclient/root
 631588+1266332+150812+[53616+59070] total=0x20fbb12

then it hangs.

The last messages on the linux box are in the bootparamd terminal
immediately prior to the root... line above.

Can anyone help?
