Subject: Reading old sun CD on NetBSD 1.4.1 or later?

I was thinking of making my MicroVAX 3100/20 act as my tftp boot server
so I can bring up some older suntoyz on SunOS (don't laugh, cuz it is
a SparcBook 2 laptop, and it only runs SunOS, period, AFIK). I got
everything set up and ready to go, then plopped in the CD, and no-readme-cdum.
The cd (RRD42 or Apple Sony types) won't mount anything on NetBSD, yet work
fine in Ultrix. I have to assume it is something amiss on the NetBSD
end, or my VAXdummyness.....(:+{{... When the CD is read, it does some
kind of a quick lockup of something then totally crashes into the prom
monitor (machine comes up fine afterward and fscking itself). I tried
1.4.1 1.4L and 1.4M kernels, all to no avail. I tried mounting by
ffs, ufs, cd9660, etc., all to no avail. It just does not want to
handle any types of cd. The cd types I tried were plain ISO things,
odd sunOS or Ultrix CD's, etc. Anyone run into this kind of problem, or
anyone know where to look to begin to fix such a problem? It really
would be nice to get NetBSD VAX to play with the RRD42, properly.
Any insights are appreciated.
Thanks
Bob
