    On my VS 3100 m38 with Single SCSI/MFM controller, simply issuing "show
dev" at the console prompt will spin up any drive connected to the SCSI bus.
If it isn't showing up in show dev and you are sure it's getting power, it
may be experiencing stiction, it could have a bad/poor connection between
the drive controller and the heads/motor, or it could be dead.
