Yeah, I can, since I have a FreeBSD 486DX66 server next to a MicroVAX
3100/20 (that just came up last night about 3 am....(:+{{.....)

The two machines are identical on ethernet speed, around 300k/s,
on the slow home coax net.

The VAX is a little slower on disk I/O than the PC, even with the
1.4L scsi DMA kernel. It feels like a 486/33, maybe.

But, it looks like it will make a nice small singleuser work station
or a small low-end ftp/web server without problem.

They are roughly comparable, with the new DMA kernel (Thanks! Ragge!)
I would take it over a PC, anytime, of that class. What I like about
it is that I can hang 6 drives off the beast, easily. PC's have a
rough time with that, usually.

I would say the ol' VAX is still worth using.
