This is just a nit-pick, but there's no 1.4.1L kernel, there a 1.4L which
is part of the road to 1.5. See the following for a diagram of how things
branch.
1.3A -- 1.3B -- ... -- 1.4 -- 1.4A -- 1.4B -- ... -- 1.4L -- ... -- 1.5

1.4.2 ???
The 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 releases are just bug fix releases on the 1.4 branch.
1.4[A-Z] releases incorporate significant feature changes on the road to
the next major release. It's possible that some of the feature changes
may get back ported into the 1.4 branch in the 1.4.x releases, but
generally the focus is on getting on to the next release -- 1.5 in this
case.
