Well, I successfully (once again) built a kernel while running the
generic 1.4.1 kernel and have (once again) had this message displayed
while attempting to build a kernel while running the kernel I had
built while running the generic kernel.

In other words, I have not yet been able to build a kernel while running
on a kernel I have built.
