Hi,

After booting my VaxStation3100/M38 from HD NetBSD-1.4.1 prints following
message (I installed it the last days for the first time):

...
boot device: <unkonwn>
root device: _

and then it seems to hang. But this isn't the truth. At this point there is
an input required !
Unfortunately if one presses a key nothing appears on the screen. But with
lots of patience you get it to work. All characters are transfered to a
buffer and after the hundredth key stroke or so they will appear :-/
So the only thing one has to do is enter "sd0a<cr><cr><cr><cr>" lets say
about twenty times and the automatic boot process continues and the login
prompt appears.
By the way the <cr> are neccessary for the next inputs:

dump device (default sd0b) :
file system (default generic) :

After logging in everything seems to be fine (for a novice NETBSD user) - no
problems with the keyboard at all. I wrote a "Hello World" program and it
did his job :-)

So does anyone understand this "feature". Any help will be appreciated.
Thanx in forward.

Wolf
