	I have 1.4 running on a MicroVAX 3 (3600 series). I tried to write a TK50
boot tape tonight, using the new boot.fs image for 1.4.1. Here is the set
of commands I used, as taken straight off the procedure from the NetBSD web
site.

gunzip boot.fs.gz

	(No problem)

       mt -f /dev/nrmt0 rewind

	(Seemed OK)

       dd if=boot.fs of=/dev/nrmt0

Here's where I seemed to run into trouble. It accessed the TK50 drive, but
then went off into LaLa Land and never returned. Ctrl-C had no effect other
than to echo ^C to the terminal.

Upon a 'hard' restart (with the reset button, not doing a power-off), I
tried mt -f /dev/nrmt0 status. Much to my surprise, the machine responded
with a weird error -- Bad ioctl(9) if I recall correctly -- and it also
complained about an 'Unknown Tape Drive Type.'

What gives? I thought the TK50's with dedicated controller were well
supported.

       mt -f /dev/nrmt0 rewoffl

	Never got this far.

Sheez... and I thought I had the TK50 tape issue licked. What the blazes
am I doing wrong?

Or is something broken in tape support for 1.4?

	Thanks in advance.
