And to follow up Ragge's response which is of course correct, a very common
cause of this symptom is that the disk controller has been configured to
"spin up" the drives one at a time. (called Sequenced Start on the Sigma
controller IRC) By the time the probe hits the first drive is spinning but
the second is still > 10 secs away from being ready, hence the timeout.
Depending on your cabinet PSU you can tell the Dilog to spin them up at the
same time (takes more current)
