I got 1.4.1 (_SMIDGEN_) and it saves 320K over 1.4 (GENERIC), 196K over
1.4.1 (_POST_STAMP_). Thanks again. Hmm... I have another question
which probably isn't VAX-specific. If my kernel is compressed, certain
utilities fail. For example, dmesg fails like:

	# dmesg
	dmesg: kvm_nlist: bad namelist

Why does dmesg need the kernel's name list? And another thing: does
NetBSD/vax support kernfs? Is that a kernel build option? [chagrinned]
(I've never built a NetBSD kernel.)
