I've got an RD53 which isn't playing very well with one of my MicroVAX
II's. It's quite possible that the drive is actually dead, but I don't
want to give up on it just yet. Is it the RD53 which tends to suffer from
mechanical problems? Also, there's a jumper block on the back side of the
drive which I'm not certain if it's configured correctly. Facing the
backside of the drive, mine is jumped as follows:
