I've received the suggestion of trying:

	boot netbsd.gz -d

at the boot loader prompt. This is apparently a Sure Thing,
but all I get is the message:

Command failed: No such file or directory

BTW, I fetched the miniroot.fs from:

ftp://ftp.NetBSD.ORG/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.4/vax/installation/miniroot/miniroot.fs

Is there a problem with that file, my method of writing the
disk image, or something else?

Thanks again for any help,

Bill
