Yes. I sure hope you have the filesystem exported with root as root, or
you'll get UID -2 here. Second, the file might be okay, but how about the
/sbin directory? What about fileprotection there?

Getting a system installed on a local disk is pretty easy. Just mount the
disk, and start unpacking the tar-balls, and do all the neccesary
incantations (MAKEDEV, disklabel -B and so on...)
