That sounds bad. If the transceiver really works, look for one: Has it LEDs on
it, and if so, are they lit ? If not, maybe a fuse for the transceiver in the
VAXstation is burned. Otherwise i would say your LANCE is gone...

You could try if "TEST /UTIL NI" makes something useful, i didn't try, but with
some components you can do much more as the standard test does.
