For those with floppy drives and CD-ROM drives, it would be possible to
boot from floppy and mount the CD-ROM for the the remaining install.  This
would be exactly like the installs on the free i386 OS ports.  I don't
know of any PCs which can boot directly from ISO9660 filesystems.  It
sounds like we have all the necessary pieces to do this now.  It's just a
matter of someone sitting down and getting it done.

My initial focus on netbooting was primarily due to the fact that [1] I
had no hard drives in my VAXstations, and [2] there was no support for
SCSI devices at all when I started back in the 1.2E days.  With the
release of 1.4 (soon?), we'll be in *much* better shape to start making
the VAX port slick.
