The GENERIC kernel shipped with a recent NetBSD/vax snapshot had the
VS3100 SCSI devices disabled (commented out in the configuration
file). You would need to build a custom kernel to enable the relevant
devices.
However, some other bugs would cause the system to crash while trying
to build a new kernel. "You can't get there from here..."
There's a newer kernel available now, with some of the bugs fixed. I
don't know if VS3100 SCSI devices are available in that version, since
I haven't had the time to try it out.
