I didn't have any problems with my VS3100/30 running that 1.3 kernel that
I recall.  Presently I'm only really using my VS3100/38.  I won't be able
to get to it this weekend, but I'll setup my M30 to take a look for you.
Just in case my memory's slipped.  

I do know that getting the console to behave as expected on the MicroVAX
3100's (10|20|10e|20e) and the VAXservers is a problem, but yours is the
first case I've heard of on a straight VAXstation 3100.  (Not to say that
someone else hasn't run into the problem though).
