<anybody ever tried to put all the 9 MByte DRAM on the KA630 CPU Board ?!?

It would be quite a hack to do. While the ka630 will address 16mb via
the PMI/CD mix the hardware on the board might remotely be able to
interact with 1mb drams. The CPU card uses 36 (parity) pieces of 256kx1
dram and putting 1mb parts would be quite a hack. The likelyhood of
destroying the cpu card while extracting and installing 36 ICs is very
high without special tools.

On the otherhand creating a small four slot backplane and using a cpu and
two 8mb cards would yeild a 16mb slave. That and some creative cabinat
hacking is doable. The point of the exercise is hard to parse. I would
think it possible to create an xterm in 1mb (DEC vt1200 rom maxed at 2mb
using ti320x) and it did do xterm via eithernet.
