FWIW, hooking a MIDI synth up to a PDP-11 through a DL11-style SLU is easy
with just some level converters and an external clock. Shouldn't be much
harder with a Q-bus DLV11x, although you'd need two sets of level converters
since there's no TTL on the Berg connector.
It always seemed to me that a PDP-11 could be a great games machine if it
had the GT40 vector scope, and a couple of DAC and ADC channels hooked to
speakers and joysticks... Same goes for a VAX...
