Ack, even Al's Attic section is on some major drugs.  They want $395 for
an RD54, $249 for a VT420 and something like $20 for a silly little MMJ to
MMJ serial cable. 

At my local DEC equipment dump the same items go for less than half of
those prices above and I even consider them to be high.  A pristine RD54
is $125, I got my VT420 for $75 ($125 when they're not being nice), serial
cables were free with purchase of terminal or system if I asked nicely.
This same place also tends to throw in the dumpster any VAXstation 2000s
and 3100s that come it's way after gutting them for memory and drives.
If you go in person, their company president loves to haggle.  You can get
some very excellent deals this way.  

Heck, based on Newman's bargain pricing scheme given the components my
machines contain I could probably sell my MicroVAX II at around $3000 and
my MicroVAX 3600 at $5000.  And that'd be a tasty $7300 profit for me.
