Not the C compiler; the C++ one.  The "word on the street" is that the
GNU C++ compiler is of significantly lower quality than the C one.  As
another data point, it's impossible to get James Clark's wonderful SP
system (an SGML parser package) to work on NetBSD/sparc -- it dumps core
immediately, and Clark insists that it's not his fault, but a bug in the
compiler or run-time libraries.
