I'd say that the '127.0.0.1' is incorrect.

This is a sample from my logfiles.

Sep 29 01:13:28 aeka rpc.bootparamd: returning server:aeka.jurai.net path:/export/diskless/vax.root address: 10.0.1.10

I'm running NetBSD/sparc on my bootserver but I don't think it would make
much of a diffeence, FreeBSD or Linux, given sane mopd and bootparamd
support (which FreeBSD has, I don't know about Linux, though my friend
uses Linux to netboot his sparc so I imagine it works just fine.)

Have a good one.
