Well, it definitely is.   My main machine is a PC running Linux, and so
far I have make, as, ar, ld, ranlib and gcc for NetBSD/vax set up on
that machine.  This worked for reasonably big applications, such as the
jed text editor.  I guess I still have to at least port strip and a few
others before I have all the tools to compile the kernel.  

I guess this means that my need for a stable NetBSD/vax machine isn't
that great.  It's probably more that after spending all the time on my
VAXen getting things to work I'd at least want to get something out of
it now.
