The problem is, that there is no single VS 3100.

There are at least:

VS 3100/M38	(a friends' machine, currently @me)
VS 3100/M76	(Bertrams machine)

and 1 or 2 older ones.

While Betrams stuff works fine on his machine, it breaks on the M38 as
soon as it would do SCSI DMA (although it netboots to single-user-mode
quite happily).
