Mine locks up all the time w/ root and swap on SCSI. This happens mostly
when I try to compile anything. I've had an i386 box lock up repeatedly
with this and two other disks in it, so it could be the disk. Sometimes
there's a pagedaemon.core file in the / dir, but I haven't seen any since
i switched root/swap from NFS to SCSI (on the other hand, i haven't run it
much since then)

Is there any chance I could cross-compile kernels from my Linux Pentium?
Could I just grab the VAX-targeted gcc the vaxlinux people seem to have
and use that or would I get alot of include file errors and stuff?
