Have you configured your kernel with

	config	netbsd	root on xx0a swap on xx0b

with xx your disktype [ra/rd/sd/whatever] ?

If you want more than just one swap partition you can use

	config  netbsd  root on xx0a swap on xx0b and xx1b and yy0b
