The QDSS/QVSS drivers are helpful (especially the font stuff) but not 
very pratical for porting.. On a DECstation teh PROM routines still work 
in MM mode (so i believe) ,and also the turbochannel framebuffer is still 
sufficiently different to be a problem.

Linux/VAX will probably implement a really nasty hack where you take it 
out of mm mode to print a char.(ugly)... I had something like this 
working about 2 days ago..(only a simple prog tho..)
