Thanks it helped, but .... when I tried rd(0,0) it didn't work.. instead 
it showed the devices that can be used, 

hp qe ctu ra mt rom mfm sd st

so what I did was use mfm(0,0) for the disk (rd54) and mfm(2,0) (rx33) 
for the floppy... The rest work without any problem, i.e. no problem 
running  edlabel or copy.. Installed the miniroot on disk and it seems to 
work, it stops writing to the display when start shows up.. guess I need to 
find a 9-pin cable.
