I don't know if I had exactly the same problem, but at one point the 1.2beta 
snapshot kernel just wouldn't boot on my uVaxII. I ended up reverting to 1.1, 
and I managed to build a current kernel from there. I had no problems booting 
the 1.2beta kernel I had built this way.
